My son loved them because they were less restricting. I loved them because diaper changes were so much easier!
I had the ones without the elastic bottom though, so it was more like he was just wearing a big tshirt.
He never liked the elastic ones, he would get his feet stuck in them and get upset.

I have had four children and have used the gowns with all of them. They are wonderful and make diaper changing a cinch, especially during the first few weeks. They are comfortable for baby too. The ones that have the optional fold over sleeves are a plus to keep those fingernails from scratching their face.

Babies usually like wearing gowns because it allows them to pull their feet and legs up to their bodies. This is a position they are comfortable in. When they start to stretch out and their feet stick out the bottom you can find different clothes. It makes it easy for diaper changes also. No buttons or snaps to undo. All three of my children used gowns.

I have 4 kids, 2 girls, 2 boys, and baby gowns are a must, especially the ones with fold over hands, and elastic around the hem. Make sure the baby wears socks though, feet have a tendency to get cold, even with babies. Diaper changes are a breeze, and you don't have to fight to get their chubby little legs out of the sleepers.

I used gowns a bunch with my newborns. They are so comfy and easy. The make diaper changes a lot easier. My kids never seemed uncomfortable in them. I think they are great for the first few weeks!!

Having baby gown or sleep-sacks are a must with newborns! It makes diaper changes so much easier!

I used gowns with my 18 month old and for my 4 month old. They did not seem to mind them.I like them cause they made those early morning late night diaper changes easy.

Both my babies wore gowns the first couple of months. They are quick and easy and most have the fold over sleeves to prevent scratching.

my daughter liked them. a lot of the outfits for newborns were too warm for her< she would sweat> but the gowns were thin and still covered her! and they made diapers soo easy to change. she wore them for about 3 or 4 months

none of my babies minded the gowns... it was for my convenience anyhow.
Ease of diaper changes in the middle of the night, dark room, wiggly baby, etc.
