Yes, because some are good questions, but I don't have a good answer so I star it so my contacts and fans can see it on their profile page.

Yes. I will star an interesting question if I don't know the answer. That way I can go back and hopefully find the answer given by someone that actually does know.

Yes, I have done that a few times. Sometimes I saw an answer much like the one I was going to give, so I didn't answer as to avoid redundancy.
