I started to answer this question and don't think I can. I immediately thought that I would say the bible of course, but I can read that on line or in bible study class or in church. I was thinking a dictionary but I can get that on line too. I would probably choose three of my favorite novels and keep them. I would keep rotating my novels. I would follow the rules and only have three in my house but they would change frequently.

hmmmm,
if I had to choose I would say

The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie

Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger

The Davinci Code by Dan Brown

If I had to have 3 books in my house these would be it because they each cause so much controversy and angered someone in their own special way, so they would have to be good.
