Hi :) I bought 2 new gold fish about a month ago and one of them has developed a sore behind it's left gill. About 2 weeks ago I treated the tank for White Spot because one of the older fish had White Spot syptoms... that has all cleared up. The fish doesn't seem to be all that worried about the sore, it is behaving normally.

Here's a link to some photo's I took of it about 5 minutes ago.

That looks like a really nasty wound. Do I see a black edge to it or is that a ghost on the photo? Does this look like the skin is gone from the area completely or scales missing or redness in the skin?

Add that info and I'll edit my answer.

Thanks heaps :)
I have 4 fish in total and they all seem fine, the only thing that has been wrong with them was the white spot... which doean't seem to be an issue anymore.
I have done a water change with the white spot treatment, alge stopper and water conditioner. So I hope that helps.
I have added a few more photos too... the wound is swollen around the edges and there is a little bit of darkness to one of the edges. There doesn't seem to be any skin or scales covering it either.

It looks like either an injury or possibly a growth or tumor . Keep an eye on it and see If it shows signs of healing. If it does it is an injury. By the way your water looks cloudy do a water change. Goldfish generate alot of nitrogenous waste. That can cause a bactieria bloom. It will cloud your tank and kill your fish.

Frm yr photos,it seem to me its suffering frm scale diseases, remove the fish immediately n quarantine in separate bowls with enought oxygen,do not filter yet,put the medication for red spot which is green color tablet form,do not feed them for 3 days during medication, monitor everyday n change water little by little if the fish "pass motion" n add water to replace those u had remove, lastly add sufficient aquarium salt. The fish shld recover in a week.
