I used the "I'm in school" excuse. One of the most interesting get out of jury duty stories I've heard is that people were asked if they listed to a certain talk radio show and if they said yes, they were dismissed.

there really is none they have done so much to stop people form getting out... just try to answer questions badly and make your self look like a bad person.. I got luck when myname was drawn.. I had gotten a high number so by the time my number was being chosen to come in for the interview they had already picked their jury.. i dont know where you are but NY your employer has to give you off for it and you get paid as well... gl

There are really only two or three excuses you can use these days to get out of jury duty. They don't accept any lame reasons.

it is VERY politically incorrect, but walk in wearing a some sort of racially charged outfit ie. a white power shirt. tell them you CANT WAIT to put away that filthy jew, cracker, ******, spick...whatever applies.
as long as you are not over the top and actually DO anything violent you can say what ever you want (you opinion is legal and free). and the defense lawer will dump you in a heartbeat. ta da! no jury duty

I just went and did it. 3 times in last 2 years. Thankfully I was never selected for a jury.

Get a doctor's excuse, if you have a legitimate problem.
I have been on jury duty many times, and it is very interesting and educational.

There really is no valid reason to get out of jury duty...but you can try telling them that you have tuberculosis...no wait...that might get you in a whole other mess...I say you just go and get it over with.

I tried that several times. I just kept ignoring the notices, and I finally got a summons to appear before the Jury Commisioner !!! Don't skip out, eventually they WILL catch up to you.....

I don't look for excuses and easy ways out of doing my duty as a voting citizen in this country...

Don't try to get out of it. Instead try to get selected they will see how eager you are to be on the jury that they will dismiss you promptly. The defense and prosecution don't want someone that they can not predict.
