I have a few questions:

1) What travel documents does a LPR need to reenter the U.S. by air from Jamaica?

2) Is a Gov't issued I.D. and Green card sufficient or do you need a passport?

3) I read some where, that a U.S LPR only needs a Gov't issued I.D. and green card to enter Jamaica, is this true?

Thanks a million in advance!

1)You will need your passport as well as your " green card" for air travel to re-enter the U.S.
2) Your Govt. i.d. is not sufficient- need that passport
3) That is true, and in actuality all you had needed was your i.d. but that was only in terms of short stays. If it had been for long term stays or for work, they needed a passport and a visa. However since 9/11, you have to have a passport to enter the country if traveling by air.

You will definitely need a passport as well as your green card. Your original passport can be used.

The govt ID is not sufficient as you are not yet a citizen and you don't want to do anything to jeopardize that, right?

You should already have a passport if you are a LPR so that should not be a problem. If it is expired, renew it before you travel!

You could have told us what an LPR is. Now you've got us all guessing.
