Yes, especially if the first sentence is a question and the second elaborates.

Example:

What is deadlier than cancer, and more horrible than a car crash? It could be in your kitchen... hear the story, tonight at 11....

Absolutely. You just wouldn't want to have pages and pages of your hook because you would lose your audience pretty quickly.
