depends if the switch is on, its a cultural thing, like shock.
and if it 's upright on the table, then that would depend on how big an ar$$e the elf has, many factors come into the equasion, width and length of the elves dickie's, will pay an important role in the said screwing of light bulbs,
the females are known as fairies,( not gays) now to screw a bulb into a fairy it will take two one to be screwed and one too do the screwing, I hope that this throws some light on your very interesting question, and when i see my garden fairy I shall ask her to get the real answer,

I would assume it would take an impossible amount of soft speaking and gifting to even get a lady Elf into a light bulb.

none,they just stick their little feet in the socket and light up. Thats what a light bulb is,thought everyone knew that.
