In most music scenes, there are big four bands that dominate that scene. Below, I'll list some of those big four acts, and you decide which one is your favorite and tell why. I'll give the ten points to the person who answers the most thoroughly. I'll go along too, so...:

Big Four British Invasion Bands:
The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
The Who
The Kinks

My favorite there would be The Who. They were different from the others, playing more of a hard rock edge to their music rather than that pop edge.

Big Four Hard Rock Bands:
Led Zeppelin
Aerosmith
AC/DC
Queen

Hard to decide. AC/DC had some nice hard rock music to it, moreso than the others in my opinion, but Queen was just great with its audience participation and all. Aerosmith overall is great. But in my opinion, Led Zeppelin is best. Each song was diverse, and they had some of the best in each position of their band.

Big Four Progressive Rock Bands:
Yes
Genesis
Emerson Lake & Palmer
King Crimson

I would pretty much have to agree with your choices. I may not care much for a certain band, but that doesn't mean that other people didn't like them or that they were good for that matter. I guess my question is, and it holds even more true today, why do we have to categorize rock? Why do we have to pigeon-hole bands and music? If it's good, it's good. Enjoy it! I like music and bands from all the genres listed above and I never really thought that they were anything but rock and roll!

Shania's had wonderful good fortune however she's a nation megastar and consequently, no longer as massive a reputation because the pop & rock megastars like Mariah Carey & Madonna. Here are the best-ever international vast earnings, as of final yr... Rank Artist # in hundreds of thousands 01 The Beatles 232 02 Michael Jackson 142 03 Mariah Carey 132 04 Madonna 131 05 Celine Dion a hundred twenty five 06 Phil Collins 116 07 U2 109 08 Pink Floyd 108 09 Led Zeppelin a hundred and five 10 Rolling Stones ninety four eleven Elton John ninety four 12 Barbra Streisand ninety two thirteen Genesis 89 14 Metallica eighty four 15 Bruce Springsteen eighty two sixteen AC/DC eighty one 17 Bon Jovi eighty one 18 Billy Joel eighty one 19 Fleetwood Mac eighty 20 Garth Brooks eighty 21 Queen eighty 22 Dire Straits seventy six 23 Aerosmith seventy five 24 Eric Clapton seventy four 25 Eagles seventy two 26 Santana seventy two 27 Elvis Presley seventy one 28 ABBA 70 29 Britney Spears 70 30 Shania Twain sixty nine And this record does not even incorporate Whitney Houston, who has offered over a hundred and twenty million.. So I'd say Shania has in general handed Britney by means of now, however nonetheless trails Barbara. Still, excellent numbers for Shania, and I agree she's performed unusual charity paintings and set a excellent illustration, in contrast to such a lot of different celebrities.

Let's see...

1. The Rolling Stones - So much great writing; longevity of course; Mick Jagger's voice - so unique, recognizable.

2. Led Zeppelin - I never get tired of them. I can hear something new every time I listen to them. Very varied.

3. I can't choose here. Don't know either of them well enough to comment. Know them all, but not deeply.

4. Soundgarden for me. Loved Chris Cornell's voice. I thought they were less morose that the others. More lively and intense.

5. Tough one. I prefer The Ramones, though that might not be a popular opinion. I like them for reasons probably unrelated to the category... fun, catchy, singable.
