Are you kidding, the more non-binding, and "symbolic legislation" they spend time on, keeps them from actually doing something they promised during the campaigns. I hope they keep it up.

When Republicans incur a legal infraction, Democrats believe in throwing them under the bus and making sure the media gets copious amounts of undeserved attention drawn to the accused and his/her party affiliation.

When Democrats incur a legal infraction, (see Chappaquiddick) a slap on the hand seems to be the norm. Even the beloved William Jefferson Clinton got away with the same crime of which "Gonzo" is being accused.

It seems the Republicans want less to do with party politics and more to do with building a nation...go figure.

Why did the republicans waste all that money going after Clinton? They had no chance of convicting him of anything. This is yet another way to make the Bush administration look absolutely horrendous. And, for every republican senator that voted against this, has to then deal with this on election day.

This is somewhat political; however, if Bush got rid of Gonzales, the dems really wouldn't have much to complain about. Besides that, members of Bush's own party aren't fans of this guy.

As far as Congress goes, a republican president and democratic Congress typically means deadlock.

Once this case clears, I think the dems have a number of other issues to investigate. Bush isn't really doing the republicans any favors at this time.

As a Democrat, the course that the Senate and House have been taking is really pissing me off. First there was the non-binding "we hate the Iraq War" resolution. Now there's the non-binding "we have no confidence in Alberto Gonzales" resolution. This isn't a dictatorship, so frikkin' grow a pair, and get some action done. Bush isn't that scary. What's he gonna do to you Pelosi, send Cheney on a hunting trip with you? Call up your pastor and have you excommunicated? He's not god. He's a semi-literate, stubborn, arrogant egomaniac who could care less about precendents and the Constitution. We didn't vote you a majority so that you could sit on your *** and do nothing. Do something binding, please. I want to see Gonzales taken down, his actions were totally improper. But the Republicans don't want to be held accountable, and the Democrats don't want to do sh*t. I had hoped the Democrats would try and change the culture in Washington, but so far, they've just laid down and done nothing.

You cannot make Democrat voters understand that Democrat Politician want your money and that's it! Nancy Pelosi has been traveling outside the United states of America, on whose money? The American peoples money! Anytime you see someone that's in the Senate or Congress travel outside the U.S.A. its the Americans money, are taxes money! Did you know the Senate or Congress could put a halt on these high gas prices, are they doing it, NO! But what really makes me even more angry, the illegals have been coming into the U.S.A. for 30 years across the borders, and also the American peoples taxes money has been paying for their up keep all this time, and Mexicans have the nerve to call us selfish. My blood was boiling when I even heard Ted Kennedy say Americans were selfish!

I'm a Republican Because...
I BELIEVE the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.
I BELIEVE in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.
I BELIEVE free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.
I BELIEVE government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.
I BELIEVE the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations and that the best government is that which governs least.
I BELIEVE the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.
I BELIEVE Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.
I BELIEVE Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.
FINALLY, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.

They forgot Bill Clinton fired the attorneys investigating him. Alberto has not done anything wrong and the liberals are just looking for something to whine about.

The government doesn't want to get anything done! They definitely don't want to be accountable. Going after Gonzo makes them appear to be doing something while they masturbate!

It seems they just want to destroy anybody in the Bush administration. They should have been working on the immigration bill. Is anybody looking out for us?
