Remember all those Republicans saying it was unpatriotic and just plain wrong for the Senate to block an "up or down vote" when they controlled the chamber?

Apparently it was all politics on their part. So much for taking a moral stand.

Personally, I think it was fair for the Dems to do it, and it's fair for the Repubs to do it too. But isn't this more hypocrisy from the right?

Gonzales serves at the pleasure of the President, not the senate.

Never cared much for the Army. But Army Guy is absolutely right. Some things should never have been an issue, let alone, gone this far. This is one of them. It was perfectly all right when Bill Clinton did it. Why suddenly the hypocrisy from the left? Could it have nothing to do with justice and everything to do with a smear campaign styled politics? Still, no map, no compass and no clue!

Let's be honest, there isn't a real comparison here. The Gonzales vote has no binding effect, it was totally for embarrassing the Administration. That is a far cry different from not voting on highly qualified candidates for political reasons.
