Most come with normal plug ends. Take a look at how much cord it comes with. I saw others noted Home Depot / Lowes / Ace Hardware, that carry the stuff.

Watch out. I purchased some cheap ones a month ago. most of the one's with cheap Chinese ballasts died. I kind of have been expecting this. A year ago, I ebay'd a box of very good ballasts and have been able to keep up.

When you look at a shop light it has 2 major components to evaluate.

1. The metal frame. Should not bend or warp. Something that covers the tubes. Strong. Durable. The latest ones are really flimsy. Can you pick it up and warp it? It should feel durable. Make sure something covers the bulb. They sell plastic covers for the bulbs. (So when you accidentally whack it with the shovel it won't shower you with glass). Typically hang by chain - you may need a bit more chain or want better chain than is what is in the box. (so when you whack it with the shovel the whole thing won't fall down). Open the box and take a look: you will see what I mean.
2. Ballast. Electrical thing that converts wall ac so the lights work. This thing costs $20-$40 to replace (you can look and see what a replacement would cost). If the one in the box is half the size of the other ballasts in the store sold individually, watch out. Those little Chinese one's don't last. Have the guy at the hardware store show you the ballast and have him compare it to the one's in the store sold individually.

Make sure you buy one with a good ballast. Ask the guys in the store. Ask how long the guaranty is for the cheap one you want to buy. It may be a better plan to buy it at a smaller nearby hardware place that will honor & fix what they sell. (I am seeing 80% failure of the cheap ballast over one to two years and 0% failure of my premium ballasts).
