The nominations are in. Here are the tops for bad front offices:
-Isiah Thomas, New York Knicks
-Danny Ainge, Boston Celtics
-Kevin McHale, Minnesota Timberwolves
You can ONLY choose from one of these THREE. Any answers that do not vote for one of these three will be tossed out.
The best answer will be chosen from the group of votes that chose the winner (or loser, depending how you see it).
So far, J.J. Redick is Most Disappointing Rookie (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArSrgPv.KjbZ07.5OGApHMDsy6IX?qid=20070606181649AAkSn3c ) and Steve Francis won Most Regressed/Unimproved Player by a slim margin (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArSrgPv.KjbZ07.5OGApHMDsy6IX?qid=20070608191402AA4Gwpk ).
Who else will join them in 2007 infamy?

Worst GM of all-time: Isaiah Thomas for getting high paid players who do not deliver, Remember that they went over-over the salary cap because of his quest of getting high paid busts. Ainge could be bailed out since he was the author of picking Al Jefferson. Kevin Mc Hale got Spree and Cassell. Just too bad it didn't last.

Kevin McHale
At least Thomas and Ainge inherited bad teams. McHale started by drafting KG on a decent team. Then didn't do a single thing to improve the team. For 12 years, the team has been in a decline because of McHale.

From your list of three I would choose...Kevin McHale. He has done very little to improve the team since it's loss to the Lakers in the 2004 Western Conference Finals.
He couldn't handle the bickering of players like Sam Cassell & Latrell Sprewell. Drafted poorly, and hired substandard coaches, and actually fired Duane Casey while having a winning season.
Now he in the last season of his contract with no hope of getting it renewed. And he still will not do the right thing for the franchise...and trade KG.
I know you mentioned to choose from the three you have selected, but Mitch Kupchak should get some mentioning too for being a horrible executive.

It HAS to be Isaiah Thomas. The guy has made a complete and utter clusterduck out of the Knicks franchise. They're a joke. I know this because a great buddy of mine is a die hard Knicks fan, and his blood presure has risen several notches ever since Isaiah started screwing up the Knicks. Coincidence? I think not.

Kevin McHale - This is his team and has been his club for too many years. And it has regressed under his watchful eyes. Why KG wants to stay with this joke of a franchise speaks volumes about his loyalty; too bad McHale doesn't have that same drive to make the club a contender.

NBA's Worst Executive
Danny Ainge Boston Celtics.
Among his resume includes tanking the last half of the season
Losing out on Brandon Roy (Rookie of the year)
Acquiring Telfair (unproven high school talent) and his gun collection
Basically mishandling everything important about Boston the last few years. Of the 3 executives I think this lottery bust has landed him a ticket out of Boston.

D'Antoni was the GM for the Suns last year. With the lack of bench and taking on players that cost tons and he didn't use..Jalen Rose. I nominate D'Antoni. Boris Diaw had a horrible year and they are up to bat for $9 million to him next year. Heck, the way he played they can't even hope to trade him, nobody is paying that for Diaw. That's why they went out and hired Steve Kerr.

It's hard to argue against Isiah Thomas. He's just way too trigger-happy when it comes to guards.
