His friends laugh behind his back, but he can see their leaves shaking so he knows they are laughing,
His co-workers try to stretch over into his old spot, but he keeps his roots there to prevent takeover,
His Mommy moves over to give him more sun, so he can stretch his limbs up toward the sun and start growing up again.
You didn't realize all this was going on did you...

Well, pines have a great sense of humor. They'd laugh like crazy.
Oaks, no, they're pretty gloomy.
Elms would freak out and get out of it's way.
Every tree is different.
