As you might already know, I am looking for fish that will do good with each other. I am leaning towards a 2 gallon tank, and don't know what species of fish do well together.

A two gallon tank is not a fish tank it is a vase!
Some people will tell you 2g is suitable for a Betta but they thrive in larger tanks even though they may survive in bowls.

If you want to keep a community of fish you need to get at least a 10g tank and 20g+ would be easier to maintain & offer more choices.
Once you get a tank it needs to cycle before it is a safe home for any fish.

You're a little limited because of the size of yur tank. Some things that will work without a heater (as long as the water temperature is around 68-70o) are up to 4 male guppies, a small group of white clouds, or if you have a heater, endlers livebearers, a male betta, 3 female bettas, or 2-3 male platies. Those are the total number if you were to keep just one species, and all should have a filter as well. You can also mix these, except for the male betta with any female bettas. You can probably keep any four of these types in your tank.

You could also keep an apple snail, some ghost shrimp, or an African dwarf frog with your fish, but for every one of these you would add, you'll have to keep one lesss of the fish.

Since your tank is new, I'd recommend that you read about how to cycle a tank before you add any fish. This will keep them healthy and keep your water from getting too cloudy. And when you do add fish, only add one or two at a time. You need to build up the bacteria in your tank to break down their wastes. See the link below about how to cycle your tank.

i does not advise the strawberry and blueberry tetras. those are dyed fish. Their coloration comes from ink being injected into their flesh with an incredibly great hypodermic needle. those fish will with out delay get sick and die. i urge all people to boycott shops that carry them. Your tank is basically too small for angel fish or bala sharks. i might advise getting 5 or extra neon and/or glow-gentle tetras. those are the two training form fish and would desire to be stored in communities. a school of each might do nicely in a 10 gallon. You do would desire to function backside feeders into the bioload equation. Plecos produce a multitude of waste, way extra suitable than the different fish you pronounced. additionally they get too enormous for a 10 gallon. Ghost shrimp are nice. they have an incredibly low bioload.

A two gallon tank will provide barely enough room for two male guppies.

can buy whatever fish you want, but do NOT put the Barb species in with normal tropical fish!! Keep barbs together, but can mix most other fish. Your petstore owner will be able to advise you anyway, but im talkin from experience!!

My livebearers-only tank has never had any aggression problems.

Try that.
