I'm a girl was really into metal in 7th-9th grade. Dressed the part, skull pants, spikey hair, eyeliner, got made fun of everyday, beaten up and also had teachers put me in the worst class and tell my parents I was a troubled satan worshipper solely because i was into metal.
Luckily by HS i changed 100% and dressed normal and listened to dance music only.
It was the worst time of my life being a metalhead, wondering if anyone else had the same experience?

I only changed because i wanted people to stop harrassing, hurting and beating me up.
It felt good not to be harrased in high schoo.

yes...but unfortunately, I still haven't grown out of it yet

I am still masterplanning on what more CD's to get, and black Metallica tees

the only offset of this is that I want some more Doors shirts too

playing the guitar only makes it harder to give up

I was into metal, but never dressed the part. Dont get me wrong my friends were aware that I Rode the Lightening, and and was down with Eddie. I would sport the occassional t-shirt but never let the metal take over my everyday life. To this day I love metal and think I always will though todays bands suck compared to what was going on in the 80's and early 90s.

I hated metalheads in the 80s. Today, I have a gang more tolerance towards kids that lean towards hard rock or metal basically because I hate rap, baggy pants, and grillz.

I was more of a 70s kid back in the 80s.

I was a headbanger back in the 80's, up til I was 24. I saw most of the popular bands of that time. Then I grew up and started my career and bought a home. Now @ 42, I still rockout w/ my Ipod and share my past with my kids about good hard/metal rock sounded. No, I don't share about all the drugs, booze and debauchery that went along with it.

I was a metalhead in junior high/ high school and still am. No one picked on me. They mostly left me alone. I believe in staying true to who you are, not caring what others say and thinking for yourself. As long as you like yourself, screw everyone else.

METAL RULES!

I was when i was in high school with 80% black and latin kids, they used to call me a devil worshipper and other names.
It really was a bad experience.
