Hi, I am a 16 girl. I had never had sex before. Last summer, my period has suddenly stopped until now. I am actually quite content with not having to worry about bloodied pants... etc. The only problem I have is with my parent. They urge me to go and see the doctor. I do not see the point, because I experience no pain etc. I had been to the doctor asking about this problem for about twice, and he couldn't figure out what was wrong. He assumed that it was normal. Now, my parents want me to have my vagina checked. I'm really embarrassed by the fact. If you are me, what would you do. *sigh*

your parents are right - go see the dr. It may be nothing, but you may as well go.

I understand that you are not physically feeling any ailment at this point, but it may be good to have a gyn specialist - one who deals with fertility issues to check you out. Even if all checks out ok, 10, 15 yrs from now, it MAY matter, because you'd be married and wanting to start a family. You don't want some undiagnosed problem setting in and creating scar tissue, or make you infertile later on.
You may simply be one of those lucky gals who only have a few periods a year. I had a high school teacher who only had 2 periods per year, and she was fine. When it came to wanting to start a family, they decided to adopt. When the papers were final, they found out she was pregnant. Both of her sons are only 4 months apart in age!
Just for peace of mind, do have a checkup.

You may have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom. (POS) So it is a good idea to allow them to uhm look down there lol. You have nothing to worry about. A little embarassing, yes. But you really could have a disorder. Also, some girls periods just stop for no reason. If you started it at a young age it is common for it to just stop out of nowhere. Anyways good luck and your parent doesn't have to be in the room with you don't worry. good luck!

I would recommend seeing the gynecologist as your parents have requested. The fact that you are not having regular periods by now means that there may be something wrong.

It's better to have the gynecologist double check to be on the safe side.
