Yup, my girlfriend's ex-boyfriend; he served time for securities fraud.

Though according to Robert Hare, 3% of the male and 1% of the female, US population are 'highly' mastered in the art of deception. These percentages increase significantly as deception becomes less extreme.

So I may know more...and just not know.

I'm interested in practical application, both for self-defense and full-contact competition. I practice, at this point, just because I love martial arts so much. Like, ALL of them. I find some more appealing or useful than others, but I love how it's the science of using your body to defeat another person. I like learning how to make my punches less telegraphic, how to make my chokes more energy-efficient, how to set up my best moves, etc. It's an activity I enjoy, and one I enjoy being good at, and one I want to study in order to be better at. I like the different "flavors" of martial arts, how they emphasize different strategies and techniques. I enjoy finding the common principles and techniques that connect them. I just love martial arts.

And yes, I do know people who are practiced in the art. I am one of them, but I don't do it anymore.
