I bought a dress at the Dress Barn not even a month ago. I wore it to my sisters graduation and noticed some snagging on the material around my bust line and down further on the skirt. I went to take it back and just exchange it, because I liked the dress, but they wouldn't take it back because I wore it. WHAT? I hate shopping places with bad return policys. So tell me some more stores so I don't learn the hard way anymore. Thanks!

I'm just saying that I want to know more stores with bad return policy's. Old Navy and Macy's would return things if they have a problem that isn't my fault. Its not my fault the dress had a snag... I just didn't notice it soon enough.

Read/Ask about the return policy before you purchase ANYTHING from a store. That way you are aware of the policy on cash, credit, and merchandise credit...If you are buying a gift for someone also ask... I've had to return some gifts in the past and I couldn't return/exchange the item even though I had the receipt. The money had to be returned to the original credit card of the purchaser....So, I essentially didn't get a gift !! Also, in some instances if you use a gift card that's a credit card save the card just in case something goes wrong with the purchase they can just credit the initial card. Less hassle.... Just ask in the future what the return policy is....I know most of the Lerner, Victoria's Secret, Lane Bryant type stores... As long as you have a receipt they will accept a damaged item...

I hate when a store is so inconsiderate to it's customers!!!
I bought a sweatshirt from Maurice's, and I realized (too late) that it was too big. So, after a couple of weeks, I returned it, tags and all, yet I forgot to bring the receipt. I got a huge lecture on how they will only accept clothes with their receipts. It was ridiculous. Then the manager went on to say that they are normally very tolerant of people returning, and they will even accept from people who had already worn the garment. However, I had NEVER even worn it before!! It was ridiculous.
Maurice's is not a good place to go, if you plan on buying a gift for someone. If he/she lost the receipt, there would be no way to do an exchange...how unfair!!!!

I know that American Eagle, Abercrombie and Fitch, and Aero take back everything. Period. You could wear something to a wrestling match, spill soda all over it, then dance in it and they'd take anything back. Maybe its because there not the smartest people working there..or at least the A&F people arent.. :D
anyways, Old Navy doesnt take anything back that has obviously been worn. Same with Styles for Less.

Forever 21 has the worst return policy! They are such bitches there! If you ever have trouble returning a legitimate item of clothing (something you didn't ruin) tell them to give you the number to the customer service line. I actually talked to the regional manager to get my top exchanged NOT returned. Finally I bitched enough and she ok'd it. Then I wanted my money back!! haha and I got it! If you didn't ruin it, why shouldn't they allow you to return it? Thats stupid.

Forever 21 is the worst. Not only can you only return for store credit, but you only have a few weeks to do so. 30 days after... and you cannot return an item to save your life!

Honey. If you wear the dress, you can't return it after. If you bought it and wore it, it's yours. It is your fault you didn't see it. All stores won't let you return something once you wore it. And if you said, " hi i just wore this dress but i saw a bump i want to return it," that was stupid cause they definitley won't let you return it then

Express....I love that store....but I had to return a jacket bc I decided I didn't like it anymore and I went to go return it....well, I found out when I was ther that you need an i.d. to make a return (i.d. card or drivers liscense, etc.)....well, I didn't have either (I'm 15), the only thing I had was a school i.d. (which is a REALLY bad pic)....and they couldn't accept anything other that a (state) i.d......thankfully my dad was at the mall while I was shopping around and he used his driver's liscense to help me return my item.....grrrrr.

I agree...Forever 21. But their clothes are so cute and so cheap, even if you can't return it, you are only out like 30 buck at the most!!
