Well, you really shouldn't free feed pellets. It is best to free feed a good grass hay, like timothy. Pellets should be fed at 1/4 cup for every 5 lbs of rabbit body weight. Hay is the most important food for rabbits.

As far as age, a knowledgeable rabbit vet should be able to give you an idea, but it can be difficult to tell in adults.

Hi! I have 4 house rabbits and have had them for over 4 years. Some of mine I have rescued and do not know their ages. So I have tried to find this out myself.
Because a rabbit's teeth are continually growing (so we need to provide them with wood or something to chew to keep their teeth worn down), you cannot determine a rabbit's age by looking at his/her teeth. In fact, it is difficult for a trained veternarian to determine a rabbit's age unless the rabbit is adolescent or younger, or elderly. If your rabbit does not have arthritis, and is not still pre-adult, then he/she is between 1 and 10 years old.
I know this will not give you an exact age, but this is the truth about determining a rabbit's age.

If you got her as an adult, there isn't any way to tell. A vet might make an educated guess based on general condition, but even that can be very far off. One of mine that lived to 16, my vet said (at her last checkup about 3 months before she died) that if I hadn't known her age, he would have put her at 4-6 years old as her coat was still glossy, body condition good, and no age-related health issues at all.

check it's teeth, and ask a rabbit person
you can probably check out some websites on how to tell off of google.ca
you can tell the right weight if it is moving around a lot (means its in good shape)
HOPE I HELPED :)

i dont really know about aging. but to tell if they are the right weight you should be able to feel their ribs. there should not be a layer of fat between the skin and ribs but they should not be sticking out!
