Absolute myth, hon! Plucking actually causes the hairs to grow back less often and more slowly. Eventually, plucking or waxing destroys the hair bulb and the hair NEVER grows back. :-)

total myth. they debunked it on Mythbusters ages ago. and Mayo Clinic a premier hospital has also debunked this myth.

The mayo clinic even went so far as to say that if it were true, then all men going bald should immediately start removing the what hair that had left so that it would promote hair growth. Which totally is not true.

the only way that it could happen is if you actually damage the hair follicule root itself. And with things like waxing, electrolysis and laser, you are more apt to reduce hair growth.

you will get the appearance of darker thicker hair with other removal methods because you are blunting the end of the hair which normally grows to a fine tip. So you get the illusion that it is thicker.

WRONG ~ it may seem that way if you are trying to get rid of your grays by plucking them. Every time you pull a hair out by the roots you run the risk of it never growing back. But each hair usually grows back unless you damage the cuticle from which it grew.
No variation by body part !!! Hair is HAIR !

It's gotta be a myth. If it was true, wouldn't balding men be plucking the hair off their heads?

Definitely a myth. If that were true, eventually there wouldn't be any room left on your body for hair!

I would have to say it's a myth. I've been plucking my eyebrows for years and their not any thicker from when I started.

not true. otherwise people would be yanking hair out of their head in handfuls to fight receeding hairlines. after shaving it can grow back rougher though. and if you shave your head itll grow back extremely curly.
