I'm going to a casting call and you need to be 18. I'm 16 but would really love to be in this movie with my friend. can we just go anyway with our head shots? how would they know?

If you get hired, they will need to copy your social security card and ID to pay you! SO they'll look at the date of birth and toss you out.

Actually, the worst thing that can happen is that you convince them you're 18, they cast you, and when you get to the shoot and start filling out the employment papers they find out you're really underage, they can't use you, and a whole day's production has been wasted. Then when you do turn 18 (assuming somebody doesn't strangle you on the spot), guess what your chances will be of ever getting called again.
It can't hurt to go down there to observe, just to see what it's like. Stay out of everybody's way; and if they ask you say, "well, I'm only 16, so I know you can't use me for this, but I just wanted to see what the audition process is like." For extra points, ask them if they need any interns. Then when you turn 18, they'll remember you for your interest and professionalism.

They'll find out your real age when you fill out the employment paperwork, and/or get them in legal trouble for hiring a minor without a guardian & tutor on set. If you waste their time and put them in that position now, you can forget ever working in a movie in the future.

dude have you ever heard of the hit television program-that 70's show ?? well jakie, or mila kunis was 14 years old and the producers needed a 16 year old girl for the part. well she tried out, got the part and they found out later , but ti turns out it didnt matter because she truly fit the character. so it really depends........

They are professionals, and have many years of casting experience. They can tell by your behavior.

They may ask for I.D. The worst that could happen is that you'll just get sent away.
