I bought a deck yesterday...I thought that they'd be cool to try, so I tried them out...nothing bad happened...I think that the only two reasons I have an inclination to discard them is, for one thing, I don't want my mom finding out that I have them...and two, my friend won't take them because she says that sometimes they bring about bad omens...don't get me wrong, I think that they're cool, I just need a way to either hide them in my room where there's not many places that aren't obvious to hide things, or I need a way to get rid of them without returning them cuz my mom won't let me go back to the place where I got them alone...I went with my friend when I bought them...
I REALLY need some advice right now...on either their disposal or their safekeeping...
please help if you can...it would be greatly appreciated... =)

It's too bad your mom is as closed-minded as she is about something she doesn't understand.
Tarot cards are a tool and don't have any inherent properties. When you've used a deck regularly for a long time there is energy in them that you want to be careful of.
It's possible to just toss them in the trash. it's not very ceremonial but then you don't have much invested in them. If you want to do something more you could bury them or burn them. Depending on your beliefs you could do a little dedication to release the energy back to the universe as you do.
Depending on the relatinoship you have with your moms, you could always take them to her and say "Yah I bought these but I don't want them" and let her help you return them. Of course you run the risk of all kinds of lectures about 'evil' things.

Perhaps you don't really need to hide them at all. Why not tell your mom all about this mysterious tarot deck. Whether you believe or not in the fortunes isn't really a problem. You could have a lot of fun pretending to come up with fun or ominous fortunes for your Mom. She could do the same for you. If you suggest this as something fun that you could do together, it doesn't need to be hidden. In fact, your Mom could keep it for you!

alright. well, as mentioned, you could burn them (fire is supposed to be cleansing) but that could be against fire codes, plus it attracts attention. what i would suggest is between matresses on the bed (a little cliche but it does work), in a plain box apportioned to about the size of a book on a shelf in the room, tucked right next to other books, in a box labeled as like out of season stuff under the bed, or in an unused purse in a closet. but if you really want to get rid of them instead of just hiding them, go somewhere you can bury them. actually, if you can just have them taken back to the store, even if you cant have them refunded, im sure you could explain the situation and ask if theyll take them back on general purpose.

Be honest with your mother - she cares for you.
However for the problem of the Tarot - get into the history of the Egyptian God Thoth. See what your mom thinks of your understanding of something so educational.
You will find that Thoth was the supposed creator of the Tarot.

I think it would be great if you could have a conversation with your mom. If you can't somehow do that, you could sell them on ebay, or have someone else do that. Donate them to a charity shop, or give them to someone you know that might be interested, or able to keep them. You can of course throw them out, however that seems to be such a waste.

mail them to a random person that you don't know. Just make up an address. and put a couple stamps on the envelope.
that would really be cool !! Tell them to mail them back to you in 10 years.

Buy a book from the library that your mom would never be interested in, hollow it out and keep them in there, then put it with all your other books (unless you don't have a bookshelf)

Try to hide it under your pillow, and at night just throw them in the trash, your mother shouldnt be garbage digging, because then its just snooping around, and thats not what a moher should do.

I know to interperet them it depends if they are facing upright or upside down. How can you not hide something from your mother? Obviously you don't have a bong, or porno

You will have to burn them. For that is the only proper way to dispose of them... I don't care what anyone says they can call you narrow minded or whatever. But using tarot cards is like using a Ouija board.. And all that the both of them will accomplish is bringing evil into your life.. And no one needs that in their lives... Satan is a real as you are.. So why give the devil an easy route into your life... And that is for real.. So burn those cards and live a peaceful life... And I say this with feeling Never give a care as to what others think of you get rid of them now. For the fear that you are felling now is not just from your parents finding out.... Burn them.................................................................................................
