In Los Angeles, they had the gay "pride" parade, which for the most part, seems to be a lot of people slapping themselves on the back that they got "pride"...but we fired God, because the X-mas parade, well, we don't want to hear about God, that's uncomfortable(to virtually all of America, since we are culturally, ethically, and morally bankrupt).

I have never been able to understand this gay "pride" thing...I have never stated with any enthusiasm to anyone that I am straight(or why would anyone care?). It's like buying a very nice car to impress people who don't even know me, let alone care about me.

Is there something more the participants of the parade have to offer the world, or humanity, than their sexualy identity?

ok, get your facts straight first. The gay pride parade in LA was put on by Christopher street west, and is financed by donors/sponsors. the same was true of your precious hollywood xmas parade. except the difference is that the xmas parade LOST money every year and no one wanted to give money to it anymore. and no one watched it. don't you dare blame that on the success of the pride parade in west hollywood.

and if you don't like the pride parade, dont come or watch it. don't worry, we still had a blast without you.

I'll make a deal with you -

When you can stop LGBT people from being beaten, killed, and discriminated against . . . .
When you can lower the LGBT suicide rate directly attributable to hatemongering . . . .
When state-sponsored discrimination is outlawed, and the US Constitution is followed, giving everyone the same right to marry one other unrelated person of age of our choosing . . .

then we can do away with the Pride parades. THAT is what the parades offer - a chance to speak out against these injustices.

Until then, instead of complaining about it, why not work to improve the situation so that we don't NEED such a parade any more? I guess for some people that would make too much logical sense.

Regarding the whole red herring God "point," last time I checked, the US had separation of church and state, and the government was not supposed to promote any one religion over the other. Has this changed?

What do these two things have to do with each other? Other than both being blatent bigotry and hypocrisy, that is?

you dint have to take crap because your straight do you? people aren't whispering behind your back saying look at that straight person are they? i dint think they are. everyone has their day to celebrate. the "participants" in the parade do have something to offer the world, its not just random street people walking down the street, they are groups, and associations, walking in that parade with pride. when you go to the st Patrick's day parade, who is walking down the street? different clubs, groups and associations, right?
now we have to take crap from everyone including the government that we too pay our taxes to, and 41% of angry voters.
you and i may be proud of our herritage, or our clubs, our jobs, and our family, even if our family pushes us away. but when you are NOT the majority, you may find you maybe a bit lonely out their in a country where not everyone embrasses you, so that parade, we watch on the side lines with pride, to see what has been accomplished thus far in our world, proving something has changed, and for one day we can unite as a group, and be happy that we are in company of others within our same community, and we all are riding in the same boat together.
have you found yourself connecting with total strangers based only on your beliefs? perhaps sharing a common bond? and when your with that group do you feel as if there may be power in numbers?

Humor, fun, love, compassion, fashion, drama, diversity, tolerance, the ability to entertain, decorating sense, the promotion of physical fitness, the ability to overcome prejudice.

Being white, heterosexual, and Christian is a cakewalk in this country. Your'e not going to be discriminated for it.

Gay pride parades can be very outrageous celebrations. They are not typical of everday gay life.

America is a secular nation and it boasts religious freedom. That means that it cannot favor one religion over the other. For some odd reason the US government only seems to support Christianity. I don't understand this.

We have pride because we've been oppressed and attacked for millenia, and we still are.

We have everything a straight person has to offer, and a lot of times we also have tolerance that a straight person might not have. We accept ourselves and our partners, and we see love as love, not as a means to hate others.

You really don't get it at all, do you? You are straight..you get to 'celebrate' this everyday of your life. Once a year we get to celebrate our lifestyle. Be a little more tolerant...it'll get you more places....and as for God...he doesn't existin some people's eyes: gay people do.

I couldn't have put it better. No one would feel comfortable having a Christian parade. What if I want to flaunt my Christian beliefs? Noooo some people don't believe in that, no that would be offensive... It certainly seems like everyone that's gay just wants to be...

The acceptance of these things are forced upon the people by the liberal agenda. If you want to keep these types of things being labeled as "normal" then vote democratic and put Hillary in control for some really bizarre entertainment as she undermines and ultimately destroys our great country.

If should be evident that we can't allow all types of behavior to be acceptable as normal. Not holding people accountable for moral and ethical behavior will be the undoing of our country.
