Fish osmoregulate...which means their bodies are constantly drawing water into their bodies.
To an extent fish do drink.

They do not drink water, they do not need to. Their body keeps up an equilibrium of water between their environment and the inside of their body. Water is exchanged constantly and automatically. The fish do not consciously do it themselves.
This is a very simple explanation of the concept but I hope it will do.

The short answer is freshwater fish do not while saltwater fish do drink.

why would they need to drink it when they are totally immersed in it and it flows thru them via their gills......can you imagine them getting thirsty?
