No. Accually, people dream almost every night, but don't know it, becuase most dreaming takes place in the R.E.M. (Rapid Eye Movement) state. This is the deepest part of sleep. But like I said, people dream almost every night, they just don't remember it. So you have been dreaming, just not realizing it... it doesn't mean anything if you don't remember any dreams for a long time and then you do all of a sudden.

You ALWAYS dream. You have about 5-7 dreams a night, during each of your REM cycles. (There are 5 stages of sleep. REM is Rapid Eye Movement, the 5th stage).
You usually only remember your dreams if you wake up during REM. You have a very low chance of that, 20%.

So it means nothing and it's normal.

EDIT: also, if you want to remember your dreams:
1 don't use an alarm clock, because it wakes you SUDDENLY and disturbs the sleep.
2 sleep longer b/c each REM stage gets gradually longer and longer (a teen needs 8 1/4 to 9 1/2 hours sleep or so.)

You "dream" each night, upon awakening, on occasion, you recall such "dreams" as they were spiritually significant.

Further Consider a "dream" is not simply a thought while sleeping, but a removal of your consciousness from your body, by you, as the body rest.

While tryinhg to figure out what it was all about and why it seemed so "real"; Consider the highlights of the dream from an emotional standpoint; or, "what stood out" while I felt emotional????

This is the message you intended on bring back "from over there".

We always dream, no matter what we always do. If you think you haven't is because you do not recall them, and they were not important to be pulled to your conscious mind during your waking hours.
If you are remembering dreams now, is probably because you need to understand the message in your dreams, maybe something important is about to happen in your life, or you need to take care of some matter, hence the recalled dreaming. :)

If you don't remember your dreams, it doesn't mean that you aren't having any, only that you don't remember them. It is cyclical. Also, I find that the more attention I give to remembering and recording dreams, the more likely I will remember them in the future.....
