sinx = cosx
Divide both sides by cosx getting:
sinx/cosx = cosx /cosx
tanx =1
x = arctan 1 = 45 degrees or 315 degrees or -45 degrees

sinx = cosx
sinx - cosx = 0
sinx (1 - cosx/sinx) = 0
sinx (1 - cotx) = 0
sinx = 0 or 1-cotx = 0

sinx=0
x = 0, 180, 360

1=cotx
tanx=1
x=45, 180+45
x=45, 225

x = 0, 45, 180, 225, 360

Square both sides.

sin^2 - cos^2 = 0, use cos^2 = 1 - sin^2 to get

sin^2 = 1/2

or sin(x) = 1/(sqrt(2)) corresponding to 45 degrees.
