No, the biggest rivalry in sports will never end. Even though in you're picture, A-ROD and Big Papi are having a good time and joking around together, on the field and off the field are completely different. Also, a rivalry doesn't necessarily mean that two teams hate each other (even though many players on NY and Boston do) it really just means that there is a long history of competition between two different teams, groups, people. The exact definition for rivalry is a person who is competing for the same object or goal as another, or who tries to equal or outdo another; competitor. That doesn't state that two teams, people, etc. hate each other. Just the fact that two teams have been in such fierce competition makes that on-field relationship between players more unfriendly, since you are constantly going against them, you're natural instinct is to naturally be against them regularly.
In conclusion, I do no think that the Yankee/ Red Sox rivalry will ever end. These are two great teams that have been great competitors for decades, I don't think all of that hype and excitement will ever end.

As long as the Red Sox and Yankees both play in the same division it's not going to end, even if Papi and Arod get along in pre-game warm-up. The fans and the media won't allow it, nor will the two front offices that go into bidding wars for the same free agents all most every off-season.
All in all I say just continue to get used it, the rivalry won't go away. Take out all of the media hype and consider that these two franchises have been playing eachother since before the 1920s.

You're talking about ending one of the greatest rivalries in sports history! Might as well try ending the middle east conflict too!
I’m a Giants guy but I’ll watch a Red Sox/Yankee game if it’s on without hesitation! Primarily because there is always the chance of something good/bad happening! Yea, the teams may get a long when they aren’t playing but when it comes down to the game itself, the WAR is on!

If something it made the opposition more suitable. earlier, the Yankees pretty lots ruled the opposition, breaking the hearts of pink Sox followers twelve months after twelve months. It recognised as though it grew to become into going to take place returned in 2004 with the Yankees a million out far off from the international sequence, while a walk by utilizing Kevin Millar, a stolen base by utilizing Dave Roberts, and a single by utilizing invoice Mueller tied the sport that grew to become into at last gained in extras by utilizing a David Ortiz walkoff domicile run. getting returned from down 0-3 to win that sequence grew to become into the pink Sox finally getting up off the canvas and hitting returned. With a good opposition, the two communities win their share. till 2004, that truly wasn't the case with those 2 communities. It grew to become into pretty lopsided. The pink Sox went directly to outperform the Yankees in the postseason till 2009, while the Angels finally caught as much as them after numerous years of frustration. i might say the opposition is in basic terms as reliable as ever.

If the Yankee players dont hate the Red Sox how come they cheered when they saw Curt give up a hit in the 9th inning of his potential no hitter.

of course the players dont hate each other like the fans do. and rivalry makes the game more interesting. and fun. also i like the arguments with the yanks and bo sux. bosox, srry bout that , and also because it fun making boston fans cry like babies when they trying to say the red sox are better, not knowing that boston is gunna choke in the playoffs any ways.

HEALTHY rivalry is OK, but sometimes it gets out of hand.
Once they have to pull out the national guard to stand on the sidelines, then its bad - which happened in 2004.
People don't beat each other up because of yanks/red sox, they fight because drunk people antagonize each other.
It will never stop, but hopefully someday it will.

Oh my gosh, I cant catch my breath I am laughing so hard. That is a good one. Until another team comes along that can be a true rival to either team, I dont see that happening...
