I think whether or not you help the guy determines who you really are. I will help anyone in need especially in a situation where they are getting picked on or brutally assaulted. When I was in junior high, I spent a couple of years in the bowels of hell where I was the target (not because I'm gay, but I was the new kid). I grew up and got a new attitude about life. I am nobody's punching bag and nobody else is when I am around. I have been involved in six cases where I physically stopped somebody from being beaten. I lost count where I verbally intervened into a situation. Of course, I don't recommend just anybody jump in and stop a fight. But you can call for help or draw attention to the situation without risking yourself. I do step in because I have the training to do it with a martial arts, military and fugitive enforcement background. I believe that we should stand up for those who can not stand for themselves.

If by picked on you mean verbal abuse, yes I do. But unless there is some special circumstance, I would not attempt to protect anyone from physical abuse myself, as I am not skilled in martial arts or anything. I'd probably scream for help, though, and try to keep far enough away from the attackers to avoid being hurt myself.

What does his sexual orientation have to do with any of this?

A person's sexuality is the last and least of my concerns when I see someone being picked on. If possible, I stop it myself, or I go get someone who can. I don't care if they are heterosexual, bisexual, or homosexual, because first and foremost, they are a human being, and no human being needs to be bullied or treated badly.

Regardless gay or not...if he assuming he is a total stranger was getting picked on in a violent or cruel way then yes...if it is just his buddies doing it in a joking way and I do not personally know him then no.

I don't care if a person is gay or not. If I see someone being picked on I'm gonna step in and help, if it is within my ability to do so.

bullies suck period, but it depends on the situation. I'm not gay and am very secure with my personality. if it's one of my friends teasing a visibly gay guy, I'll tell them to knock it off and that it's their own personal opinion.

It is my belief that you should help anyone in need of it.

Why would it matter if he were gay or not though? If he were gay, would you not have even thought about helping him?

i can honestly say that i dont, but inside, i feel really bad for the kids that get picked on. i dont have the courage to stand up for them and i'm definately not proud of it. i'm a bad person. i kno.

What does being gay have to do with it? Everybody deserves to be picked on just like I have been. Life sucks and it always will. Get used to it.
