hello, my history class is doing an essay on three afircan american men....w.e.b. dubois, washington and marcus garvey.


they want me to write in my opinion who had the best idea...as in to get african american civil rights back...

can you help with examples on w.e.b dubois and why his idea on taking action right away is good....

DuBois was the co-founder of the NAACP, and felt that civil rights for blacks in the USA would never be freely granted, and never granted in the way that BT Washington thought they might be earned. He believed that rights must be demanded and that nothing less than absolute equality would ever be sufficient. He also believed in the "Talented Tenth", that the best and brightest 10% of African-Americans had as a responsibility to raise the status of equality of all blacks in the USA.
