ok i will begin my list

5. Ice Cube
4. Dmx
3. Jay-z
2. Nas
1. Eminem (controversial decision but eminem has survived the stain of time and sold, hes obviously better than jay-z, but i had to decide, em or Nas, both are good and still are good though both fell off. Jay-z became more of a pop artist since he has been with beyonce, eminem still put out emotional and good records, nas, made you look and hip hop is dead were good records).

In my opinion eminem is the best rapper/MC/ hip hop artist alive.

1. Nas
This one is a no-brainer - If not, then I got a question: has your @ss ever heard Illmatic? He Single-Handedly built the foundation that modern hip-hop stands on (WITH ONE REALEASE!!!!)

2. GZA / Genius
By far the best out of the Wu-Tang clique. Unbelievably articulate, intelligent, creative and funny - Exhibit A: Liquid Swords

3. Immortal Technique
Has gotten alot of buzz from hip-hop fans. VERY political message coupled with unreal lyricism

4. Jay-Z
The only "commercial" MC i like. No amazing lyrics or strong message here, his music is just so plasant to listen to (isn't that what it's all about?) + He's a legend

5. Raekwon
This one was hard but Raekwon gets the final spot for creating an absolute jewl of an album with Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. If you listen to this CD all the way through you'll experience an almost cinematic experience - it's just so utterly entertaining...

LOL What a list. I wouldn't put NAS in my top 10 because he is so hypocritical if you listen carefully to his lyrics, DMX was okay but now he can't remember his own rhymes at shows, after flesh of my flesh blood of my blood he was done. Now don't get me wrong NAS has had classics that I listen too, but he is just a hypocrite. But heres my list lol.

In no Particular Order.

1. GZA
2. Immortal Technique
3. Kool G Rap
4. Dre 3000
5. Mos Def
