Hi, I really love Cedar Point and i LOVE roller coasters. I am going tomorrow and wondering how the maverick is. I watched the video online and saw that you go into a tunnel and go rilly slow then you launch at 70 mph. does that jurk you at all?
have the lines gone down or still just as popular? and to all u experienced riders, is it really good and worth it?
i made a ride on roller coaster tycoon 3 and it looked fun so yeah! GO CP

Maverick is a great ride! I only waited in line for an hour and it even was down for a bit.

I was surprised I enjoyed it so much since it isn't one of those record breakers you've come to expect from Cedar Point.

The first thing I noticed was instead of having a lift hill it was more of a launch hill. The first drop was a 95 degree angle (past vertical) which was awesome. The majority of the time I felt a strange weightlessness. I wasn't pressed against the seat or the restraints - it was like I was floating. The ride does lose momentum right when it goes into that tunnel. It is choreographed with lights during the second launch also. There is a portion of the ride that is also synchornized with water cannons that shoots over the track from its blue pond.

The ride is definitely worth the wait - no matter what that may be. Though it does have some downtime so ride it ASAP!

You're going to CP in the middle of the week, before the season get's crazy, that's the best time to go! I'm sure you'll still have a good wait in some of the lines, but they shouldn't be too bad.

I haven't been there since 2000 when Millennium Force opened, so I can't say how good Maverick is, but it looks awesome! As far as the launch goes, any coaster that I've been on that has a launch is a little jerky, so I can't see why this would be any different. I suggest hitting that first, since it's the newest ride, and the lines will be crazy long. After that, I'd just start hitting the rides closest to it, then work my way around the rest of the park. Have fun!!

i love CP too!
the maverick is worth the wait, whatever wait it is, it is worth it. in a way the ride is orgasmic. the ride can get a little jerky but it is nothing like some of the other rides
there is a tremendous amount of airtime too, it seems like half of the ride you are out of your seat.
the 70 mph is actually unexpected even if you know about it happening. it kinda sneaks up on you and you are just pushed into the back of the seat.

the only flaw is, it is unreliable, it breaks down too frequently so as soon as you get there head straight for the Maveick because the line will only get longer as the day goes on. trust me, i waited for 3 hours for them to open the maverick on friday...and it was worth it
