Everything in this world has a purpose. Individuals are often just too close minded to see it.
What many people define as PURPOSE or MEANING is actually very inncacurate.
We only really see the past or the present. The rest is just guesswork.
The long term is the hardest to see, but to truly see the answer to your question, that is what must be examined.
So, yeah, life DOES have purpose, and meaning.

No, because, meaning and purpose are different things. Meaning is an external attribute of common perception. Things or actions may mean other than they appear to be. Purpose is different and it may not mean anything or may not be meaningful. Purpose is an internal act of the self. The most elemental purpose of life is the life itself. So, every life form has a purpose of living at the root of their existence. To exist and to be aware of this existence is the actual purpose of life, others are all cultural residues.

Not necessarily as long as you keep searching for that something that will give you meaning and purpose in your life. In the mean time just do little things that give meaning until you find the purpose that quickens or makes alive your passion, and zeal for living life! You'll know it when you've found it. It's alike a blind man who can suddenly see or a deaf person who can suddenly hear! That's what I'm talking about.

I think that is a question one decides for themselves. I do not think it is necessarily so.
Some people are goal-oriented, goal and purpose driven. They use these to motivate themselves.
But what if one has motivation to do, simply for the sake of doing? Or, what if one simply doesn't concern themselves with "motivation"? What if simply being, is enough for them?
Can I not paint, simply because I like to, or must I make a picture? Must what I do, have an end result?
This is not to say there is anything wrong with goals, or purposes. If one feels they draw comfort, or motivation from fixing themselves on a particular course and holding to that course, then there is no issue.
I do not feel this is reason, however, to look down on those who do not choose this.
And one's life can have meaning, if they are not choosing to invest "meaning" in "purpose". "Meaning" could be invested in experiencing, or simply being. Which are continuing actions, without necessary "goals" or "end points".
It's all in how one chooses to live their life and find meaning, for themselves, in my view.
Peace.

Life has a purpose regardless of who validates the purpose. Too often we are head strong and move mountains toward our perceived purpose; only to find out our desires are unsatisfying.
The book/ movie, "The five people you meet in heaven" did an awesome job of making this point.

Neither are necessary to live. Both needs are forced on you by culture. Culture created the idea of purpose to justify somethings apparent existence and look for meaning in its operation within the natural universe. The 'something' lives without the need of either.

Life does have a purpose, whether you may realize it or not. Some elderly people I have met have ask "Why am I still alive" I tell them "So I could meet you and cross your path" And I truely believe that. We may never know our worth or purpose but there is a purpose, there is a meaning.

"The only life worth living is the examined life"----Socratic Advice
Before one can determine if a life does not have a purpose one has to examine it. Once a thorough examination has been performed then one will discover that their life does indeed have a purpose.
