Mahela Jayawardene, Captain of Sri Lanka Cricket Team is a great batsman and a leader. He is also a supurb fielder in the inner ring. Since the cricket world cup1999, he has effected most of the run-outs by any fielder in one day internationals. He has got a batting averageclose to 50 in the Test Matches and 30 in One Day Internationals.
He is a greatasset to Sri Lankan cricket for the years to
come.

He is the captain of the Sri Lankan Cricket team and a good batsmen when it is his day.Jayawardene is like Jayasuriya when it is his day he can bat but if its not then its not. I'm not saying the Jayawardene is as good as Jayasuriya but they are alike. Jayawardene did very well in the Afro Cup series.

jeez he's definitely on fire. he never leaves a game without scoring 40+. he was aiming for more 100s and he got one on the final game of the afro-asia cup. he sure is the best captain because sri lanka was not-all-that 2 years ago, but mahela somehow deployed his magic and got them through to the world cup finals. that's some achievement. no wonder why he got the "Best Captain of the year" and "Captain of the World ODI Team" award at the ICC Awards 2006 award. love him! he's brill!

Present he is batting better than any batsman in circket.
With Great players always additional responsiblity brings the best out of them.
Captaincy has made Him the champion circketer even a player like Tendulkar in Captaincy failed miserably under pressure.

Jayawardana has no fututre left but he has earned so much with his past.He got captaincy at a very good time and he did well.he is not a normal hittert of the ball,he is a classical batsman.
