3x-11y=2 ...x-5y=2..?

anyone understand this..i dont..well i got a rough answer for x and y but need to doulbe check

3x-11y=2 ---(1)
x-5y=2 ---(2)

(2)x3: 3x-15y=6 ---(3)
(1)-(2): 4y=-4 => y=-1

Sub y=-1 into (1): 3x-11(-1)=2 => x=-3

x=-3, y=-1

3x - 11y = 2
- 3x + 15y = - 6
4y = - 4
y = - 1
x + 5 = 2
x = - 3
x = - 3 , y = - 1
