Why or why not? I'm thinking of getting a MySpace account and I want to know other people's opinions.

MySpace is safe . . It's what YOU put on it.
If you supply all your personal information, you're asking for trouble.
But if you play it safe, then it's a fun, safe way to stay in contact with people.

it is safe if u are smart about it. there has been stories of ppl being killed because they went to meet up with someone they met over myspace. Pls be smart and dont meet up with no one at all. oh and remember ppl on myspace look better then ppl in real life LOL.

Myspace isn;'t that bad, I have it but I don't hang around on that website all the time, and don;'t put your real info on it.
I just have it for fun, like creating your own website and putting different layouts on it etc.

dont!! its not safe at all! i took an internet safety class at school and they showed us how eay it is to get ALL ur info not just from myspace but thats where they started! dont do it! chances r slim that anything will happen but better safe then sorry!! cus if ur dead or raped i dont think u will be happy! be safe!

i have a myspace account and i have never had any problems with it

Yeah I'd have to say it is safe. I had an old account and now I got another one and I've had no prolbems with it and it's free to so go ahead and sign up.

If you are below 18 and gullible then I would say there are potential dangers on My Space, if you are left unattended by your parents. Some grown adults aren't mature enough for My Space.

I don't think so.A week or two ago,they arrested a sexual offender on My Space.I'm from Texas,and that person was from my hometown.He was featured in the news,a male registered sexual offender in his 20's communicating with several 15,16 yr. old females.Be very careful.

1 - make it private
2 - add the option for someone to add you as a friend they have to know your last name (obviously, dont give it out)
3 - only add people you know
4 - dont put personal information on it
5 - dont put personal information on it
6 - dont put hooker-ish pictures on it
7 - i dont give my actual zip code, i just put the state i live in.
* i use mine for friends (current & old high school friends) only
if you're smart with it, it will be just fine! have fun!
