it really depends on how much you like the show as to if it will be a disapointment or not. I can't wait for it to come out, but I can tell that its not going to be as good as some of the tv shows in the past. When tv cartoons go on the big screen for some reason they make the characters look a bit different. You know brighter, with darker outlines. maybe its just easier to make a longer show, but it is annoying. As far as THE END is concerned I think that we are entering the last few years of the Simpsons. For years there have been rumors that"this is it for the Simpsons", but I'm sure that in the fall there will be another season. Really, who would end a show with this much publicity AFTER a movie came out. The fall will be the most watched Simpsons to date. Now the fall after that could be good bye to our beloved Springfield.

Personally, I think the trailers look great, but I have friends who saw an early screening of the film and said it didn't live up to expectations. In fact, the version they saw was so early on, not all of the frames were colored in, so the filmmakers really were just testing certain ideas out on their audience and then heading back to the "drawing board," so to speak, to finish the movie. It is still in post-production, even though it is scheduled to be released in six weeks, which might mean that they are working down to the wire just to keep the jokes fresh, current, and from leaking onto the internet.
Then again by not having the film finished this close to the release date, that might also just be a really bad sign that they still don't have it up to their standards.
I haven't watched the show in a long time. I don't think the new episodes are nearly as original and clever as the early years. I'm also pretty bored with the fact that Lisa and Bart never age. I think the writers could have a lot of fun with them in their teenage years, but oh well. I don't think the movie WILL mark the end of the show, but I think it SHOULD.

No, I don't think The Simpsons movie will be a disappointment. I am actually looking forward to it as I have grown up watching the show. I hope it won't be the end of the show. But you never know.

It looks hilarious based on the previews. I don't think it will disappoint; a lot of time and loving effort was put into it's creation. Hopefully not the end of the show that never gets old.

It won't be the end. They even have a song:
They'll never stop The Simpsons,
Have no fears, we've got stories for years, like:
Marge becomes a robot,
Maybe Moe gets a cell phone,
Has Bart ever owned a bear?
Or how about a crazy wedding?
Where something happens, a-do-do-do-do-do.
Sorry for the clip show.
Have no fears, we've got story for years!
Need I say more?

I don't think it will be the end of the show. I'm hoping it won't be a disappointment. I hope it doesn't feel like a extra long episode either.
