I just did a ph indicator. I put 5ml of water and 3 drops of solution. My dropper turned a dark dark green really dark almost black looking. What does that mean? i lost my instructions? please help:(

Without the color chart testing range reader, I can't really tell you much. Wash out your tube, run the test again and see if you get the same results. If you suspect the reading to be off, check the lot number on the batch, you may have an expired test set. Posting the manufacturer might help to look up the specs for the testing kit to get a color code reading.

I'm remembering what my indicator looks like and if it's dark, then you're in trouble. All the tests, the lighter the better. You need to do a water change. Like the contributor above me. you might want to check and see if your test kit is still good. I've never seen a ph come out that dark.

What's the brand of kit that you use? Maybe someone here uses the same an can email you a photo of their card.

Generally, greens are neutral to somewhat basic (7 and above).
