I can't seem to find a means of decoding this VIN and I'd like to get the info so I can list the motorcycle in a classified ad. The VIN is JYA15E008DA100135.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Call Yamaha. They'll give you all the information you could want.
I've called them plenty of times.

About all I can tell you by the VIN is, it was made in Japan in 1983 ,it is a Yamaha motorcycle (which I think you already know) and it was #100135 in the production series. See your authorized Yamaha dealer or call Yamaha Customer
Relations at (800) 962-7926. This is for Suzuki but it may help http://www.suzukicycles.org/_misc/identification.shtml

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.

Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net that has been around since 1995.
