So, what's up with Red Sox fans? Everyone on here says that they're so horrible. And other Red Sox fans were getting cocky about that giant lead, and now it seems all of our bats have gone to sleep. It's practically an embarrassment to be a Red Sox fan now. Can someone explain to me why Red Sox fans are so obnoxious? They just give the rest of us a bad name!
I think I'm a pretty nice Red Sox fan: I don't hate the Yankees, I respect them. I don't get cocky with leads. I wear my Boston hat no matter what.

It is they way people are today. make them feel good when their team wins, and when the team loses, they feel better because at lease they not on that team, losers.
I can't say why the Red Sox fan you know are like that split about being good or being a bad team at the same time. Remember a team that wins 100 games only had to lose 19 of them to be a .500 team.
I see many fans brag and posture when a team they root for is doing great but when they lose they wont wear and old team t-shirt to paint a house in.
It is a long season so I save it for the end of the season to pound on my chest how great the Phillies are.
Remember our baseball History too, a season is 162 games long and your real team will show up. You will have to over come batting slumps, pitching woes, defensive blunders, bad managing, umpiring.
Least we forget
1914 Boston Braves ( yes the Braves played in Boston)
1951 New York Giants
1964 Phillies ( They let 2 teams catch them with a 6 game lead and 12 games to play)
Blue Jays had a team that lost 5 games in last week of season and all they needed was a win to clinch div title

Well, aren't you the PERFECT fan!!! "Then you say it's almost embarrassing to be a Red Sox fan now." I am a Red Sox fan and have never been embarrassed by them. They are a great team!! They now hold a 9.5 game lead in the AL East and will end up winning their division by at least 8 games. That is REALITY, not cocky!! Further one can hate the Yankees and still respect them. Where do you get off criticizing Red Sox fans?

Comparitively, the Red Sox fans are HIGH class compared to Yankee fans...
The lead is slipping? Are you serious?!? It's at 9.5 games right now. The Yankees arn't really making much progress and the Red Sox are maintaning a solid season. Just because they're not winning EVERY game like at the beginning of the season doesn't mean they are doing horrible now.

You have it all wrong the Yankees fans are the most obnoxious. They think that their team is going to win and no one else has a chance to win they rub it in to us all the time and never have anything good to say about the Red Sox players. We are still in first place and if you say that then you are NOT a true Red Sox fan

They still have a giant lead, bats will get cold from time to time during the season, you sound obnoxious, and any real Red Sox fan HATES the Yankees and respects them at the same time.

The only obnoxious red sox fans are the drunk ones. I am a red sox fan and live in boston. We have some of the best fans here, playing a game at fenway park is like no where else its crazy. But its awesome, and I thnk every where u go your goin to find obnoxious fans. But def the ones from Boston are the drunks =)

Red Sox fans MUST hate the yanks. You're not a Sox fan. If a fan is too obnoxious, then you're not drunk enough. Drink up, relax, and watch the Red Sox win another Championship.

When you have been through as many baseball seasons as I have you will come to realize that a season consists of a series of ups and downs. The Red Sox got off to a great start and have cooled down while the Yankees got some of their injured players back and have started to pick it up. Both are good teams and will battle each other for the division title. Fans should just relax and enjoy it and pull for their favorite team.

Every team has good and bad fans. I don't think most of us would make generalizations about all fans from Boston.
I'm a Jays fan, and I don't find either the Sox or Yankees fans to be any worse than those of most other teams. There's a little bit of arrogance at times, but that's to be expected when you're a fan of teams that win all the time.

You are correct. Initially, the red sox looked great. I think that every team has hot and cold periods. The good news,for you, is they started off hot and are now cooling off. Which can be good or bad. Unfortunately, the Yankees are coming along to be the team they are supposed to be and now most red sox fans are getting nervous about the competition. But really, it should have been assumed that they wouldn't stay down all season (like your team). It's going to be a great remainder of the season and we should all enjoy the race!!
