It depends on the person...personally i value it over many things in my life at the moment. If you're a promising athlete/model/whatever, then i think it is important to continue with education to a certain level as insurance, if you like. I know some people who play sport for england but had to stop because of one major injury that could happen at any time. This leaves them with no qualifications and no career in sport. Education will broaden your horizons and make you a more complete person.
...However, Life Experience is also very important. In my opinion, maybe more important than what education will teach you- I lived in 5 different countries until I was 8.

Yes, very highly. In school we are currently learning about slaves and how much of a role there revolting played in the civil war. As soon as slaves started learning to read and write through a secret teaching system (check out the book nightjohn) they learned what they could have and what whites were doing was wrong. Just right there makes me value education. Slaves risked beatings and even there lives for teaching others because they knew it was the only way to be free. It makes me sick to see some of my peers not try in school and complain about it.. It's a privilege I value dearly.

Yes, I've been studying stuff for years and understand the daftest things now. TV is so much funnier because writers of some things are far too smart and add stuff I don't think you were meant to understand. I rewatched a film I love after starting studying science and it totally changed the film because I understood it. An education opens up your mind and imagination, and opens doors you never even knew were there before.

Yes, very much. Education is the key to opening lots of new doors in life. Education is ongoing, it never ends. It should be valued and appreciated because not many have the opportunity that we have here in the U.S..

only if the education leads to a better job or contributing to society in some way, honestly, what the hell has a liberal arts degree ever done for anyone? not instead of working at wal-mart you can work at Macys, big deal.

You cannot value it too highly. It is the key to the life you want.

Personally yes, but I think most don't.

I once had a manager at my company (Boeing) tell me that it was worth nothing and only a piece of paper on the wall.
