i would have used a microwave but that just seemed too new-fashioned. it was going to be peppermint tea. and i was going to eat cookies with it... and pretend they were biscuits or whatever it is the british eat with tea.
and that was going to be me having tea. so if my friend called me and asked me what i was doing, i could say "its tea time, what do you think im doing?" in a british accent.

Girl, you have a very rich fantasy life don't ya? LOL I've burned up a few teapots in my day, no biggie. Nuke that water and make your tea, have the cookies and start working on your accent. Hope you get a phone call!

Congratulations.
But I would have Earl Grey instead of peppermint to do it really British. And you have to put milk in it.
Burning water just made it all a bit more authentic. You know how bad British food is. Other than Jamie Oliver, they don't know how to cook over there.
