i just don't see the point in it. ever heard "no use crying over spilled milk". i don't think he is that bad, but nothing we can do anyway so let's slander the hell out him. that's helped so much in the last 8 years. i don't see what it accomplishes. does it make you feel better to have others agree with you?

I agree with you 100%. I'm not by any means saying he hasn't made any mistakes or that I agree with everything he's done, but he is our leader, and as a country we elected him (at least enough of us, that under the current system he won so don't complain about that any more either). I also think that similar bashing of Clinton or any other Democrat is uncalled for. There are intelligent ways of approaching the issues that bother us, and there are the ways that most Americans choose. I voter for Bush, but for me it was a lesser of two evils choice, as it will probably be this time around as well. I identify more as a Libertarian so neither of the major parties really does a lot for me.

As far as respect is concerned, as the leader of our nation he is entitled to a certain degree of respect. I am not saying you need to be buddies with him, but respect his position and what he has to do. Keep in mind many of his decisions are made from a very different perspective than we have, with information we don't get. I question whether any of us would perform better in his situation.

Lots of people are steaming over the administration's answer to the immigration problem, but most people fail mention why both Libs and Conservatives are upset. It's because the administration did the democratic thing and compromised, so no one side really won the argument so far.

Just because we respect authority, doesn't mean we're robots or that we agree with everything. It is just that, respect.

The sad part is that so many do bash him. If he is holds this position of authority like you say and should be respected than why isnt he on such a wide spread scale? He has the lowest poll numbers of any president for this long of a time. He has sold this country down the river for personal and finacial gain. I will speak out and slam the dimwit any chance I get because unlike you who was stupid enough to vote for him, I wasn't. I read through his BS right away and hoped anyone with a half a brain would see it as well. They played it well to get him voted in. All though it still had to go to the courts. If you have a problem with someone, you don't stand there and be the lazy american that you come across as...you speak out and spread the discontent for the issue and hope that you can rally enough people and join a fight to end the corruption. You would have made a great Red Coat I tell ya.

He has done little to earn respect, and much to earn disgust.

I voted for him in 2000 because he made me believe he was a conservative.
He lied about that.

The Patriot Act---the name alone sounds bad in a free country.

Iraq War-only Cheney seems to think there is a link between
Al-Quaeda and Iraq, and he refuses to tell anyone why.

Mismanaged war in Afganistan

Seals his own past while delving deeper into everyone else's lives.

Plows ahead with whatever is best for Bush/his buddies despite what the people want-the President is the represntative of the People. Gov't of the People, By the People, and For the People-he scorns this.

Ruined our economy-we were headed down (the economy goes in cycles, downs and ups have to come), but he has tried to prolong the up which is putting us into a 1920's type of artificial surge before the crash (read about the stock market and economy in general from WWI to the early 30's to see what I mean if you dont understand).

When you abuse your authority, you trample on the constitution, you break laws and treaties at whim, and go behind America's back to do things that are illegal. you have no right to any respect, I have respect for the office of the president, not the idiot that calls himself one!

He has not earned any respect! He lost that 4 years ago!

And that is funny coming from those who still bash Pres. Clinton, and he is 100 times the president George Bush is, or will ever be!! They don't call Bush the Worst President in US History for nothing!

By the way, in 2000 more people voted for the other guy!

So just because someone is the president they automatically get respect? When you do stupid things, people bash you for it. When bush does stupid things, people bash him for it. Your aloud to stand up for what you think, this isn't a communist country or a frikkin dictatorship, stop being so dang scared to make fun of people in authority. Your not gonna get in trouble, and if you do, that is a violation of your freedoms. Oh, and bush was re-elected 4 years ago. Peoples opinions can change in 4 years!

One only reaps what they sew. Don't forget that the MAJORITY of the people voted for Kerry . If it hadn't been for Jeb and his cronies down in Fla there would have been a different outcome. The decision was made in the Republican controlled Supreme Court, not by the people. My sister lives in Fla, and she says they are still finding boxes of uncounted ballots washed up on the beaches, but not as much as before !

I agree with you- there is an intelligent way to disagree with a leader, and most people dont seem capable of doing it. So the unintelligent have to resort to personal bashing. Dont get me wrong- it happened with Clinton too. The sad part is that we Americans dont realize how much we make oursleves look like idiots on the international stage with all of this stuff. Im all for intelligent dissent- but bashing? Nope.

The President is just a man and he supposed to be under the leadership of the people of the USA. Instead he's a blue-blood lap dog of the rich and powerful. We are his boss not the other way around. If you think someone you hired/elected is doing a bad job then you can say they SUCK and need to be fired!

I didn't vote for him, so your "we" comment does not apply to me.
And as others have pointed out; respect has to be earned.
Same with being called a "leader".
Just because someone has power and authority does not automatically make them "leaders".
