i just bought the car and its an 01... and the remote dint work so i changed the battery with a brand new one... now it works but it takes forever to open the door... everytime i try to ulock or lock.. i have to hit it many times untill it workss... does that mean that the problem is in the remote itself.. or is it in the car??? shouldi just get a new one ?

It does sound like the remote is bad, being a '01 and all.

You could go to the dealer and pay an "arm and a leg" for one like previously stated or get one on ebay for a fraction of the cost. I've done this a couple of times with good results.

It probably wouldn't hurt to see if there's any information on general automotive electronics at a website or store like Best Buy or Circuit City.
