Wow what a frightening and rough situation to be in and your doctor isn't making it any easier for you.. I can understand why your doctor wants you to wait, the longer you can keep the baby in the better in normal cases... However that being said there are so many babies born premature that are just as healthy and normal as babies born at/around their due dates that your choice to refuse medically stopping your labor does not make you a "bad person", a bad mother or a bad anything.. This is your right to say yes or no, the doctor had informed you (well I hope he has) and given you the options and it is your decision to choose what you feel is the best. If you are going to a hospital I would suggest that you ask for another doctor, if possible. By the way.. yes they might record that you refused care but that is only to protect them from later being sued if you said they never offered you medicines or such.. I know cases where people refused medical care knowing it would lead to their death/ their family members death and no one said anything.. so I wouldn't worry about what this doctor has told you (It actually sounds like he was offended that he couldn't play the "hero" and deliver your baby when and how he said) I truely hope you make it a little longer and that the both of you will be fine.. Good Luck!

I would make the decision based on what is best for the baby. My wife went into pre-term and they stopped the pregnancy, administered some steriods to accelerate the development of the respiratory system. She was in hospital for 2 weeks home for 2 more. Delivered in week 36.
They do say 1 week in the womb is worth 3 outside so I think it is preferrable to prolong, if possible.
Legally, I do not know what the ramifications are for refusing treatment because the child is impacted by that decision. If you are that concerned, I would seek legal counsel.

I was on that medication and it didn't stop my contractions at all it just made me sick to my stomach so I stopped taking them after about 2 weeks. I know where you are coming from I went to the hospital two times and they kept sending me home. They never gave me an option when I went to the hospital they gave me a shot of that crap and sent me home. I don't think anyone would look down on you for not wanting the meds though. After the 7th month the lungs are completely formed. 34 weeks is premature but not by long if the baby wants to come he will come no matter what they try to do to stop it.

I think it is a better idea to get the labor to stop. I know you are ready to meet your baby and you are tired of waiting but the longer you wait the healthier the baby will be. At 34 weeks they will still take your baby to NICU. I doesn't matter if you are a day away from being 35 weeks.

Most OBs prefer to have women get to at least 35 weeks before performing c-sections and at least 38 for natural births and this is to make sure that the baby has the best chance to survive on its own. With your history with this pregnancy the c-section sounds like what the doctor has in mind. Besides there is a problem with one of his statements, there is a federal privacy law that allows only the medical personnel directly involved with your care and yourself see your medical records.

I don't think that that is ground for them taking your baby away from you. If your doctor says 35 weeks i would go with what he/she says. They do know what is best your baby. Why would you have a problem waiting an extra 6 days if means a healthier baby. Your baby's lungs are not fully developed until 38 weeks so the closer you are to that time the better chances your baby has of breathing on his/her own without help.

they want u to carry as close to term as you can.many things can cause problems if you have a pre-term labor.you refusing to stop the labor could be risking your babys health.i went into false labor and early labor 3 or 4 xs with my daughter and then she was born 2 days early.sure that doesnt sound like much.but after she was born we discovered she had an under developed stomach.she was 7 pounds half ounce at birth and by the first week she lost to were she weighed 5bls. 6 or 9 onces.we also found out she had an allergy to formula.i quit b.feeding at 2wks.carry as long as you can.denying the meds.can cause social services ot interfer.they consider it denying your child medical treatment. u dont want to risk losing your baby.what if its lungs are under developed even with help it may not be able to breath.my neice lost her baby from under developed lungs.i know your tired of waiting or going back and forth to the hospital.but you have to think of your baby.try and stay off your feet and no sex.walking and sex helps to induce labor.good luck and congrats

three years in the past, I used to be identified - high blood pressure with a studying of one hundred sixty/one hundred. I used to suppose dizzy plenty, my legs had terrible cramps, and phases have been very low in my potassium, inflicting my palms and ft to consistently cramp in combination. One day I began to suppose fairly faint even as I used to be riding with my daughter within the again seat and I handed out, hitting three autos and finishing up in a ditch. That second,I knew I needed to do anything due to the fact that my meds were not running. I heard approximately this vitamin from a buddy and inspiration I'd provide it a shot. The outcome had been awesome. In simply 21 days, I truthfully cannot keep in mind feeling this well, my blood stress went from one hundred seventy five/a hundred and ten to one hundred twenty five/70.

Let them stop the labor. You don't want to have a child to prematurely just because you are not comfortable. The baby needs more time and if they can give it more time let them. I don't know if they can keep the baby from you though, that doesn't make any sense to me.

This is your body and your baby. Unless you have a history of making lifethreatening decisions and CPS has charged you with endangerment, I would say your doctor is full of it. He has no right to pass judgement on you or even decide for you if you want to have the baby 6 days before he wants you to. CPS won't step in on your delivery unless there is proof of prenatal drug use during this pregnancy. You should be fine and I would complain to the medical board about your doctor for trying to intimidate you. By the way I had my twins at 34 weeks and they were just fine. They spent a short time in the NICU for observation but nothing was wrong with them.
