You have a fuel problem, lack of same.I`m guessing but are you running at full or close to full throttle. If so then there are two proble causes.Check your fuel line its self, when the engine dies is the primer bulb hard or soft,if hard the problem is NOT the line or fuel pump which are the most likely causes. Now if the bulb is soft or flattened you have a fuel pick up problem in the tank,or a sticky check valve in the primer bulb is self.Just change fuel lines and try again,if the problem goes away you solved the fault. You will need to remove the fuel connector on the tank and lift it out, there are about 6 screws and its very easy to do,try not to damage the gasket.Look for dirt, anything that's not supposed to be there. The last concern is a crankcase leak, ether where the haves join or must likely a crank seal.
But if your experiencing this problem at slow or trolling speed then a different set of rules come into play.let me know

Hi there
Another thing you might want to check would be an air leak at the crank case halves. You can do this with a can of solvent like WD forty or something simular. With the motor running, spray the solvent on both sidesof the mating halves and see if you have an increase or decrease of engine rpm's. If you do then try tightning bolts up and if that don't work you will have to tear down and reseal according to spec. Hope this helps you out.

Sounds like it is running out of gas. Check the fuel lines from the tank to the engine including the quick disconnects. It also may be the float valves in the carbs. Carbs will need to be removed and soaked in a good parts cleaning solution and blown out with compressed air. Check all the passages and put them back together with rebuild kits.

I would guess it is a fuel issue - maybe the float? or possibly even the fuel lines? fuel lines are double lines, so if they are old and the outer and inner break away from eachother - when you go for a while the inner can basically suck itself in - restricting fuel. once you stop the suction stops and it will work agian

when checking the fuel lines and connectors pay particular attention the the little "O" rings inside . If they are cut, chipped, or cracking in any way replace them as they will allow the engine to suck air instead of fuel.
