I was always a big fan of Ron Simmons after meeting him when he was in the Cleveland Browns training camp....he is a class act who didn't need the Farooq character. He was the first African-American to hold a major heavyweight title, though it was built through Bill Watts's disgusting racist angle with Lex Luger as the heel.
Angle has certainly had more impact on the business over the years and is one of the best workers ever, even when he had ridiculous scripts to sell with Vinnie (cowboy hat guy, stalker, etc.) that could have destroyed many wrestlers.
Angle has the clear edge on the mic and a slim advantage in pro wrestling skills, I give them a dead-heat in finishes, and Ron an advantage in attire (Angle's is predictable for talent who had Olympic success) and Ron has the clear advantage with the accomplishments, as stated above.
Within the entire package, I give Simmons the nod.
