Eventually you'll get hurt if something is being kept from you, especially in a relationship. I think honesty is the primary basis for a successful relationship (whether romantic or platonic).

I think that even if it never hurts you, it would end up hurting someone else, someone close to you, or even the person who kept it from you in the first place. Sometimes in the abscense of information people make worse choices than they would have made if they had taken that information into account.

It will hurt you in some cases....but if it is just small things that you are left out of the loop on then you are better off.

It depends on the situation! If you are cheated on and find out later it would hurt much more than finding out that your friend doesn't like you.
