Do the people have a President?
I have voted for Bush. I believed he was the best candidate, and maybe still would be except for this one flaw: he does not listen to or act for the American people.
If he read the comments on message boards such as this, he would know how the majority of citizens do not have faith in his immigration plans. When cities are not allowed to decide to uphold federal laws with their resources, when states do not have enough of anything to stop the flow of illegal aliens, and when law-breaking non-citizens are favored over honest, hard-working citizens of previous legal immigrants, The People cannot find the government we all thought we had.
I refuse to dangle a carrot of citizenship to an illegal alien, simply to get more money for the government, while others who do not wish citizenship are still given free reign to be here with the same amnesty as they are given today.
Does anyone know why this complex plan will work, when the simple in-or-out doesn't?

Of course, I would love a reply from anyone who votes on this bill.

I don't know what's wrong with him on this issue. He's going against his own party on this one. If I'd known he was going to be like this, I would never have voted for him.
He doesn't seem to care that the people don't want amnesty for law breakers.
It's frustrating.

You're right, the bill is a load of crap. I have turned against Bush too as well as all the Republicans like McCain, Linsay Graham and the others. If a good candidate does not emerge in 2008, I will not vote.

Clearly, the passage of this bill will be the death knell of the Republican party.

The liberals were right about one thing: Bush is crazy!

It will never work. I voted for Bush too--but am so sad he's gone off the deep end. I think he's had anervous breakdown and his mental acumen is damaged. Really!
He acts like a lune now, and he is even worse on TV than ever before-and he's sounding more and more like Hillary Clinton-or he cohort-Billy--fickle-wishy-washy-ignorant-obtuse-single-minded-pedantic-uninformed-and cavalier about the will of the American Public!

He just doesn't want his Texas oil fields to have to hire real Americans!
