I red on the internet by the half way mark of pregnancy (about 20 weeks) it is more than likely that I should've gained about 10 lbs. I have only gained 4... is this bad? I have been being really careful not to eat horribly.

There is nothing wrong with the amount you have gained. I didn't gain any weight until I hit month 7. Your baby is growing very rapidly and requires a lot of energy from your body. Therefore, your baby will use up many of your calories that you take in. Most women don't gain any or much weight until around the middle of the second trimester or the beginning of the third. You are doing just fine. As long as the doc says your baby is healthy then you are ok.

NO, at 20 wks I had only gained the weight i lossed back which was like 4lbs....If your dr says you are ok then dont worry about it.....the stuff on the internet does averages, its just an average of what pregnant women gain at that time!! That does not mean you have to have gained that weight for everything to be normal!

no, not at all. i didn't gain any weight at all by 20 weeks, the less weight you gain now, the less you will have to lose later. you pack on the pounds in the later weeks.
